Former Bowdoin student-athlete Kaitlynn Miller ’14 has been named to the 2018 US Olympic Team in the sport of cross-country skiing.
Miller represents one of 20 cross-country skiers named to Team USA at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in South Korea in February. The PyeongChang Games mark Miller’s first Olympic appearance.
This is not the first time a Polar Bear has made such tracks in pursuit of Olympic gold in this event. Elizabeth Frazier Youngman ’81 was a two-time U.S. Olympian in cross-country skiing—at the 1988 games in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and in 1992 in Albertville, France.

What an incredible accomplishment for Kaitlynn, and milestone for Bowdoin! In addition to the unimaginable amount of hard work and talent it must have taken for Kaitlynn to do this, it is also a testament to Nate Alsobrook’s amazing coaching! He has done so much to build Bowdoin’s nordic ski program, provide exceptional quality coaching, and inspire young athletes to go for it! Go u bears!
