Football – The football team sacked Hamilton six times and set a new program record by holding the Continentals to negative yards rushing in a 20-7 Homecoming victory Saturday.
Field Hockey – Cathleen Smith scored two goals to lead the third-ranked Bowdoin College field hockey team in a shutout win over Hamilton Saturday afternoon.
Volleyball – Bowdoin’s Kristin Hanczor became the third Polar Bear volleyball player to surpass 1,000 kills in a 3-1 win over Amherst Saturday at Colby.
Cross Country – The cross country teams each finished second at the Maine Intercollegiate Championships at Pineland Farms Saturday.The Polar Bear women were edged in a close race by Colby, 41-44 in an 11-team field. The men’s team was second to Bates, 23-43 in a 12-team competiton.
Women’s Soccer – The women’s soccer team scored twice in a two-minute span in the second half to take a 2-0 win over Hamilton Saturday afternoon.
Men’s Soccer – The Bowdoin College and Hamilton College men’s soccer teams played to a scoreless draw at Pickard Field Saturday afternoon.
Women’s Rugby – The women’s rugby team clinched first place in their division with a 73-0 win over Amherst Saturday afternoon.
Rowing – Racing in the two fours events at the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta in Worcester, Mass., Saturday, Bowdoin’s First Men and First Women both won the gold. The men beat rival Vermont by four seconds, and the women zoomed to a 44-second margin over second-place Simmons.
