With Bowdoin’s Help, Brunswick Thinks ‘Outside the Bus’ (New York Times) Archives

The Brunswick Explorer, the College-supported hybrid electric bus line serving Bowdoin and the Brunswick community, is highlighted in a New York Times opinion piece looking at public transit.

Bowdoin’s financial support for the Explorer comes not only from College administration, but from students, as well. Bowdoin Student Government funds half the College’s annual financial commitment to the collaboration.

The Brunswick Explorer is a public-private partnership with funding provided by the Federal Transit Administration, Maine DOT, Community Transportation Association of America, the Town of Brunswick. In addition to Bowdoin, other local partners include Sweetser, Mid Coast Hospital and United Way of Mid Coast Maine.
