Field Hockey – Ella Curren drilled home a penalty corner with 9:51 remaining in overtime on Saturday afternoon to give the fourth-ranked Bowdoin field hockey team its fourth consecutive win to open the season.
Football – The Williams College football team scored on its first two possessions and held on for a 24-21 win over Bowdoin in a season-opening New England Small College Athletic Conference contest Saturday afternoon at Whittier Field.
Men’s Soccer – In a rematch of last year’s NESCAC Championship and NCAA Regional Final, the Bowdoin and Middlebury men’s soccer teams played to a 2-2 draw Saturday afternoon.
Women’s Rugby – The women’s rugby team remained unbeaten with a 22-7 victory at Colby on Saturday.
Women’s Soccer – Rachel Madding finished off a scrum in front of the Bowdoin net 6:34 into overtime to give the visiting Middlebury women’s soccer team a 3-2 victory on Saturday.
Women’s Volleyball – The volleyball team swept a pair of matches on Saturday to earn first place at the 2011 Midcoast Classic.
Sailing – The sailing team posted several impressive showings at weekend regattas around New England.
Men’s Golf – The men’s golf team finished eighth in a competitive 18-team field at the Williams Inviational this weekend at Taconic Golf Club.
21 to 24 is a moral victory after some of those Williams routs…go Bears!
