For the 12th year, Bowdoin students, staff, and faculty across campus wore yellow on Oct. 24 as a sign of support for the community’s LGBTQ members. The day marks the day when the former director of the Christian Civic League of Maine, Michael Heath, visited Bowdoin in 2005 to argue against same-sex marriage. Students organized to wear yellow at Heath’s talk, peacefully showing their support for the gay community while protesting against Heath’s message.
I forgot my yellow yesterday, but I am there in spirit! Well done!
