18 Students Win Fulbrights to Teach or Research Abroad Archives

This year, eighteen Bowdoin students have received Fulbright Fellowships to live abroad for one year — in Indonesia, Taiwan, Nepal, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, or Malaysia. They will either teach English or pursue a self-designed research project at a university.

Besides their work, Fulbright fellows are also encouraged to engage in their new community by volunteering, joining a club or local athletic team, participating in religious or cultural activities, enrolling in classes, or pursuing some other social activity.

The U.S. Fulbright Program is a competitive, prestigious fellowship designed to improve cultural understandings between the United States and the students’ host countries. Fellows receive round-trip transportation and a living stipend.
