It’s been a good year for winemaker Jim Anderson ’88, cofounder of Oregon-based winery Patricia Green Cellars. His 2016 Estate Vineyard Bonshaw Block Pinot Noir has been awarded a rare 100 point score by Wine Enthusiast magazine.

According to KGW8 television in Portland, Oregon, this makes Patricia Green Cellars only the second winery in the world to earn a perfect score from the esteemed publication. You’re probably out of luck, however, if you want to try some of this award-winning wine, said the broadcaster, as it’s only available to wine-club members and is already sold out.

Said Anderson to KGW8: “What this score hopefully, in my mind, represents is that Oregon has places that can produce ‘perfect’ wines… as good as any of those made anywhere in the world.”

According to The Times Record, Anderson grew up in Harpswell and attended Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham before going to Bowdoin College. In 2000 he cofounded the winery with Patricia Green, who died unexpectedly last fall.
