Sophomore captain Carly Lappas placed second in intermediate equitation over fences and fourth in open equitation on the flat. She was also Bowdoin’s representative in the Medal Class, an individual championship in which each school enters riders to compete over fences and on the flat. In the flat class, Lappas placed third in the NESCAC for all equitation riders.

Junior Captain Meg Broderick placed third in both novice equitation over fences and flat. It was her third show competing in a jumping division, and “she held her own, though her horse did kick a hole in the wall during her flat class,” according to the team.

Maddie Bustamante ’17 placed fourth in novice flat with the same horse kicking another hole in the wall. She placed third in intermediate equitation over fences, keeping Bowdoin in two of the top three places in the class. Haley Miller ’16 won her walk-trot-canter flat class in her debut ride of the season.

Penelope Lusk ’17 placed sixth in walk-trot-canter on a horse “that would love for her to adopt it,” according to the team. Clara Hunnewell ’17 won second in advanced walk-trot-canter. Olivia Atwood ’17, a walk-trot rider, had a difficult horse draw but recovered from a challenging first half of her class to place third.
