Bowdoin’s Rudalevige Weighs in on Supreme Court Travel Ban Vote Archives

The Supreme Court has voted 5-4 to uphold President Donald Trump’s travel ban, which restricts entry into the US from a number of predominantly Muslim countries. Writing in The Washington Post’s political science blog, Monkey Cage, Thomas Brackett Reed Professor of Government Andrew Rudalevige described the ruling as a “normal decision — or, more precisely, it is the outcome you would expect under a normal president.”

To put the decision in context, said Rudalevige, it’s important to understand this: “Over time, Congress has delegated tremendous discretion to the president, especially in foreign affairs.” Read more.

    Your animus toward President Trump is always present and consistent.
    In your explanation you eagerly forget to report that the seven countries in question were that same ones noted by Obama to Trump as bad actors.
