Bienvenu à Baudouin Collège? (Portland Press Herald) Archives

For the uninitiated, the name “Bowdoin” already trips off the tongue a bit awkwardly. The pronunciation – and the spelling – have undergone several changes since 1686, when the family name was recorded as “Baudouin.” Note: Secretary of Development and College Relations and de facto Bowdoin historian John Cross, credited in the article for assisting the writer, is misidentified as James.
