The Chronicle of Higher Education has published an interactive tool on graduation rates by state and type of institution. Although this data isn’t officially tracked by the U.S. government, the Chronicle estimates that 2.1 million of 4.3 million entering first-years in 2004 didn’t officially graduate from the institution at which they began their studies.
In Maine, Bowdoin is the highest performing private college, with 93% of its students graduating. The other two highly ranked schools are Maine Maritime Academy for public universities, and Eastern Maine Community College for community colleges, according to The Chronicle.
