The Common Good Award, Alumni Service Award, and Alumni Award for Faculty and Staff recognize members of the Bowdoin community for their exemplary achievement and dedication.
Common Good Award
For her generous contributions to society, Jill Shaw Ruddock ’77 – author, patron of the arts, philanthropist, publisher, and accomplished executive in the world of investments and securities – has been selected to receive the 2012 Common Good Award.
Alumni Service Award
In recognition of more than 20 years of service and dedication to the College, trustee emerita Marijane Benner Browne ’83 has been named the recipient of the 2012 Alumni Service Award, the highest honor given by the Bowdoin Alumni Council.
Alumni Service Award for Faculty and Staff
For her tireless dedication, the Alumni Council has chosen College Librarian Sherrie Bergman – scholar, mentor and gifted administrator – to receive the 2012 Alumni Service Award for Faculty and Staff, presented each year for service and devotion to Bowdoin, recognizing that the College in a larger sense includes both students and alumni.
