The College will host “Bowdoin Women in the Visual Arts” on Thursday, March 29, 2012, at 4 p.m. in Kresge Auditorium, Visual Arts Center. This one-day symposium will bring together alumnae who operate in the art world in diverse professions to share insights and stories that shed light on the myriad contributions of women to the visual arts.
Speakers include halley k harrisburg ’90, director, Michael Rosenfeld Gallery, New York; Matilda McQuaid ’79, deputy curatorial director and head of textiles, Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, New York; Mara W. Sprafkin ’02, artist; and Melanie A. Taylor ’94, director of exhibition design, Guggenheim Museum, New York.
