Linda Kinstler ’13, the editor of The Bowdoin Orient, is one of eight students from around the world selected for a Google Journalism Fellowship. The new 10-week fellowship, from June to August 2013, will include a week at the Knight Foundation in Miami, Fla., a nonprofit organization that funds journalism and media, and a week split between Google News and YouTube. Kinstler will also attend the Nieman Journalism Lab at Harvard University.
The Fellowship is designed to “help develop the next crop of reporters working to keep the world informed, educated and entertained,” the Bangor Daily News reports, and will train its fellows in “data-driven journalism, online free expression and rethinking the business of journalism.”
