Although many prestigious institutions of higher learning became coeducational just four decades ago, women have made enormous strides as teachers, mentors, scholars, and intellectuals during that 40 years.

Bowdoin will host a symposium, “Women in Academia,” celebrating the achievements women have made in academic professions over the past four decades on Thursday and Friday, March 29 and 30, 2012.
