The country-funk band Comanchero, featuring Sam Margolis ’01, plays The Big Easy, 55 Market Street, Portland, on Friday, February 17, 2012, to release their new album, The Undeserved.

Comanchero is brothers Greg Moon (drums, banjo, keys, vocal) and Bob Moon (electric guitar, vocals), Andrew Kramer (bass, mandolin, vocals), Sam Margolis (acoustic guitar, harmonica, vocals), and Jim Levin (percussion, vocals). In addition, Noel Coakley contributes pedal steel on several tracks of the new CD.

Comanchero’s country-funk thunder melds a rambling jam sensibility with genuine boot-stomping twang. Shades of Widespread Panic, Cake, and Wilco in these feverish Cactus Rock rhythms.
