Ken Burns H’91 Goes Head-to-Head With NYC (The Guardian) Archives

Documentary filmmaker Ken Burns – who was awarded an honorary degree at Bowdoin in 1991 – has refused to comply with a subpoena from the City of New York. NYC lawyers want outtakes and notes from Burns’s upcoming documentary, “The Central Park Five,” in order to defend a lawsuit by five young men who were wrongly convicted of the rape of a jogger in Central Park in 1989.
