Native Mainer and artist Kate Farrington ’89 already has a string of letters after her name, including an MFA from the Art Institute of Boston and master’s of liberal arts from Harvard, and is now in the process of adding a Ph.D. to her credentials.
Farrington is studying at the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts (IDSVA), a Portland-based low-residency educational program in philosophy and art theory for visual artists, architects, curators and creative scholars with learning centers around the globe.
