Bowdoin’s Office Eco Reps Prioritize ‘Green Purchasing’ Archives

For the Eco Reps at heart, few things are more satisfying than walking into Hawthorne-Longfellow Library and seeing copy paper consisting of 100% recycled content and the collection bins for “already-been-used-on-one-side” paper. Nearly every corner of campus participates in what has been described as “green purchasing.”

Green purchasing is voluntarily prioritized by the Office Eco Reps, who help foster a sustainability-friendly atmosphere in work places. Bowdoin’s Office Eco Reps are a diverse and enthusiastic group representing more than 20 buildings and departments across campus. Together they influence how Bowdoin purchases paper, ink, folders and kitchen items.
