Twenty-three years ago today, Pamela Herbert ’90, a junior studying abroad through a Syracuse University program, was among 270 people-including 35 SU students and Bowdoin alumnus Nicholas Bright ’79-killed in the terrorist bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. The victims will be remembered during an annual ceremony to take place at the Lockerbie Cairn in Arlington National Cemetery.
C-SPAN will make video of the 2:30 p.m. ceremony available later today. Scotland’s Daily Record has news of talks between that country’s top lawman and the FBI regarding new inquiries into the bombing.
