In conjunction with the celebration of the 17th Annual Common Good Day on campus, more than 100 alumni, parents, and friends volunteered for the common good across the country.
Boston- Gaining Ground Volunteers helped with harvest and assisted in setting up the Farm’s first Annual Harvest Fest
Denver- Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge Volunteers removed noxious weeds and landscaped around the Visitor’s Center. Additionally they helped create a black-footed ferret educational display.
Hartford-Elizabeth Park Conservancy Volunteers weeded and maintained the gardens and grounds of Elizabeth Park.
NYC- Broadway Housing Communities-Sugar Hill Development Volunteers participated in outdoor planting and helped in the creation of the inaugural mural for the Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art & Storytelling with the guidance of artist, Saya Woolfalk.
San Francisco- California Coastal Cleanup Day Volunteers joined in this statewide effort to clean up California’s scenic beaches. Bowdoin’s group focused it’s efforts on Lands’ End Beach in San Francisco.
Seattle- The Nature Consortium Volunteers removed invasive plants, primarily Himalayan blackberry from the West Duwamish Greenbelt Forest.
