Film Studies to Become Interdisciplinary Program (Bowdoin Orient) Archives

Film studies, which became an approved minor in 2001, is to become an interdisciplinary program next year, following a vote at the March faculty meeting. The two classes currently offered this semester will expand to four in the fall, and two faculty members – Associate Professor of English Aviva Briefel and Associate Professor of Asian Studies Shu-chin Tsui – will become members of the department, of which Tricia Welsch, Bowdoin’s Associate Professor of Film Studies on the Marvin H. Green Jr. Fund, will remain chair. Read the Bowdoin Orient article.
