Students Fan Out Across the World on Funded Internships Archives

This year, 39 students who received grants from Bowdoin’s Funded Internship Program will spend the summer working at organizations around the globe, from the Foundation for Sustainable Development in Jodhpur, India, to the Department of Homeland Security in Washington, D.C.

Every spring, in a competitive process, Bowdoin Career Planning gives out awards to students its pool of grant funds. These funds, which have been set up by donors, allow students to pursue diverse work experiences while not worrying about money. The student recipients choose where and for whom they will work, and end up at both nonprofits and for-profits, or pursue their own projects.
