Bowdoin College has given the 2013 Abraxas Award to Hanover High School in Hanover, N.H.
The Abraxas Award is presented annually to the secondary school sending two or more graduates to Bowdoin whose representatives maintain the highest standing during their first year at the College.
Those two students in the Class of 2016 are Lucy Eliza Skinner and Michaela Dabora Helble.
Together, they earned a combined GPA of 3.863 during the 2012-2013 academic year, the highest for a secondary school sending two or more students to Bowdoin.
The Abraxas Award was established in 1915 by the Abraxas Society, a former Bowdoin junior class scholarly society that was active from 1893 to about 1924.
