Couch-to-5K, the fitness program that’s been motivating dozens of Bowdoin faculty and staff to get up and get moving, got an early start Wednesday when WCSH6 Morning Report anchor Lee Nelson P’19 brought the program to the show’s viewers through a series of live reports throughout the broadcast. Nelson expects to be a fixture at Whittier Field this fall when his son, Noah Nelson ’19, plays football for the College.
Couch-to-5K is a nine-week program during which participants meet at 7 a.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at Whittier Field for 30 minutes of coached walking and running. The amount of time spent running increases over the course of the program, which culminates with participation in the Run for the Fallen, a 5K race held August 16, 2015, in Brunswick.
