On Thursday, October 26, San Francisco’s multicultural alumni assembled for a panel and reception titled “Multicultural in the Workplace: What It Means To Be An Insider and Outsider.” The panel featured Michael Jeng ’89, oncology professor at Stanford University Medical Center, Zanette Johnson ’97, principal consultant at Intrinsic Impact Consulting, Lola Chenyek ’09, product marketing manager at Salesforce, and Rasha Harvey ’12, client program manager at Sequoia Consulting Group. The panelists reflected on how Bowdoin prepared them to navigate certain experiences within their industries—industries that aspire to achieve greater diversity. Katie Benner ’99, a reporter for The New York Times, expertly moderated the panel, asking questions that clarified differing perspectives and deepened the dialogue. Orrick, Herrington, and Sutcliffe LLP and Mitch Zuklie ’91 graciously provided the event venue and catering.
