The goal of all Projects for Peace activities is the furtherance of peaceful coexistence worldwide.

Lowy Medical Research Institute awarded Bowdoin College $25,000 in support of student training and research in neuroscience at Bowdoin. The funding provides summer research fellowships as well as a translational learning experience for students in Molecular Neuroscience, as they delve into the study of a real-world disease that affects hundreds of thousands of people, but has no cure.

The Mellam Family Foundation awarded Bowdoin Career Planning $10,000 to provide supplemental support for two additional summer internships for students interested in the Robert S. Goodfriend and Richard B. and Sabra Ladd internships.
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded Bowdoin College a grant of $675,000 to support new opportunities for thematic instruction across the humanities to enhance the undergraduate curriculum. This program will offer new ways for students to experience related areas of the curriculum, provide opportunities for greater student engagement with faculty research and support for independent student research, create symposia and visiting speakers associated with clusters of courses, and foster new opportunities for faculty development and collaboration.
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded Bowdoin College a President’s Leadership Award for $250,000.
