A public art project in Philadelphia called Monument Lab aims to foster a citywide conversation about the role of art in public spaces. The project features temporary monuments installed by twenty artists in ten public spaces across the city. The works of art will remain in place until November 19, 2017.

Among the featured artists is Sharon Hayes ’92, associate professor of fine arts at the University of Pennsylvania. Hayes, along with other artists from the project, spoke with PBS’s Jeffrey Brown about the exhibition and what it’s trying to achieve.
