Introducing the Bowdoin Magazine Podcast, where we’ll take deep dives into recent editions, go behind the scenes to expand on articles, showcase extra content, and tell new Bowdoin stories.

Our first installment begins with a conversation between Professor Emeritus John Rensenbrink, who turned ninety this August, and his former student Tom Putnam ’84, who was for many years director of the John F. KennedyLibrary and Museum and currently executive director of the Concord Museum. Next, we get on the phone with Jonathan Calugi, the Italian illustrator whose drawings accompanied our feature “A New Line of Thinking,” to talk about his creative process and the strategy he employed for his Bowdoin assignment. Then, we catch up with singer/songwriter Coretta King ’12 to learn more about her experience in Nashville—and, of course, to hear her sing. Elise Juska ’95 wraps up our pilot episode reading an excerpt from her acclaimed new novel, If We Had Known.

Our bimonthly show is currently available on the Bowdoin Magazine homepage, as well as through Soundcloud, Stitcher, and Google Play, and will appear on iTunes soon.

The Bowdoin Magazine Podcast is a new venture for us and we’d love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. Please send them to editor Matt O’Donnell at modonnel@bowdoin.edu.

Thanks for listening!
