Members of Bowdoin’s multicultural alumni community joined President Clayton Rose in New York City on Wednesday, October 19th for an evening of networking and conversation. The event, held at the Cave du Vin at Lafayette Grand Café and Bakery, was hosted by José-Manuel Torres ’85, Staci Williams Seeley ’90, J.P. Hernandez ’04, Daryl McLean ’07, Helen Wey ’09, Kayla Baker ’09, Justin Foster ’11, Zulmarie Bosques ’11, Lewis Salas ’13, and Neli Vazquez ’14.
Lewis Salas ’13 and Sherrone Ricks ’12, co-chairs of the New York Multicultural Alumni Network, spoke about how the group’s creation, as well as how to get involved in future multicultural alumni events in the city. Guests also heard from President Rose, who shared his vision for Bowdoin’s future, including ongoing efforts to create a more inclusive community.
This event was the first of four in a series of events aimed at connecting Bowdoin’s multicultural community. Upcoming events will be in held in Boston on January 10, 2017 and in Washington, D.C., on January 11, 2017, and in San Francisco in Spring 2017.
