Bethany Berhanu ’20 was selected as a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow. She will be working with Professor Vyjayanthi Selinger on a research project that combines her double majors of Asian studies and psychology to explore how Japanese popular culture (anime, manga, fashion, etc.) allows for discussion of mental health issues in a culture that stigmatizes such discussions.
