The Process

Each character deserves his own page. after all, each of these characters adds a great deal to the story line, and we need to understand them.  The four characters in this story can be described as "crazy," or "angry," or "guilty," or "proud", and it is important to know which one is which.

You will develop eight pages to describe the two characters you have chosen (four pages for each character). Be creative with how you choose to present each character and make each page unique! Each of the two characters analyses should contain the following four pages.

The first page should include The character's name, physical description, age, friends, etc.

The second page should include A picture or a symbol that you think represents or is associated with the character. Then, in one or two well-written paragraphs, explain why you think the symbol or picture you chose goes with the character.  Be sure to support you ideas with evidence from the book.

The third page should include A complete description of the character's personality.  This must include traits particular only to this character. This page must have quotations that illustrate these traits or behavior.  It must also have examples from the book that show what you think his personality is like.  You must use at least two of our vocabulary words in describing him.  Be as detailed as possible in your analysis of his personality.

A fourth page must have one or two well-developed paragraphs that explain how the character helps to support the major theme of the book- that of coming of age or growing up.

These eight pages- four per character- may be electronically shown to your teacher.  However, a hard copy of the eight pages must be handed in on the due date.
