THE BOB THEOREM (aka: Back of the Book Theorem)

Statement: Regardless of all other ideas, laws, or information, the answer given in the back of a text book (denoted B) must necessarily concur with any result U (formulated independently of B) in order for U to have any physical significance.

I give this theorem without proof because it is beyond the scope of any intellect but mine--including all you Phd. types! A simpler restating of this theorem says that the answer given in the back of the book possesses inherent correctness and remains invariant under all transformations except The New Edition Transformations. The consistent nature of B suggests that any method capable of changing U to B must have validity. We can see this in the following corollary:

Choice of Sign Corollary:

Statement: For any result U formulated independently of B such that U = -B,then the addition or the removal of a minus sign from U can be performed without need of any explanation or reasoning.

Close Fit Corollary:

Statement: For any result U formulated independently of B such that U = f(B) - c, where f and c are constant whole numbers, then both f and c may be substituted into calculations prior to the result of U without reasoning of units.
