The Bowdoin College Museum of Art exhibition Earth Matters: Land as Material and Metaphor in the Arts of Africa,  bringing together 60 exceptional works of art from the 19th century to the present, is reviewed in The Boston Globe by Sebastian Smeewho notes the exhibition’s “powerful objects and thoughtful provocations.” Read the review, “At Bowdoin College, African Art Mines Earth for Metaphor.”
