The economic realities in rural Maine can lead to significant impacts on learning. Without MLTI, without the equal opportunity to become tech literate, students here would be further disadvantaged. I agree about the suggestion for investment in teachers salaries and professional development (and in the support system needed to keep the equipment functioning which is often underfunded).

My grandson is in 7th grade and I see the need for computer skills, and wonder what would happen if he could not afford an I-pad or laptop.
I remember in the 60’s having little access to libraries and limited knowledge of research skills kept me from doing well in English so I concentrated on math. Now we have Google and all kinds of research tools.
