“I can say that none of the rationales for various policies that I have heard display a basic 200-level understanding of key economic concepts,” he said.

What about the very basic Republican argument that raising tax rates (holding everything else equal)will ALWAYS increase (by some amount)a deadweight loss on economic activity (which explains why Republicans have opposed the tax rate increases the Democrats).

I’m glad I went to Bowdoin rather than Bryn Mawr.
