The Bowdoin College Library has recently partnered with Jed Lyons ’74, president and CEO of Rowman & Littlefield, to publish, for the first-time, a complete two-volume edition of illustrations of Maine’s flowering plants and conifers by Kate Furbish, a botanist from Brunswick.

Mary Pols writes of this intrepid collector and artist in the Portland Press Herald. Read “A 19th-century Brunswick botanist gets her due with book of flora paintings,” which includes notice of the book’s launch September 26 in Kresge Auditorium.
