I wish we had had similar opportunities to grow in consciousness and love when I was a Bowdoin student from 69 to 73. Many of us tried to accomplish this with canabis and LSD. Speaking from experience, drugs had the opposite effect.

At age 65 and a retired business executive, I begin each day with meditation, then head to my wood shop and enjoy letting the beautiful wood guide me in my creations. Had I known how to meditate from my youth, I am certain my life would have been more joyful, loving, and valuable to humanity. It would have helped me be a better father, husband, citizen, worker, manager executive, friend , teacher, musician, and child of God.

Congratulations to Bowdoin for allowing students to offer meditation classes to their peers.

The format for the seminar is somewhat didactic but primarily experiential. The seminar features applications of clinical hypnosis in mental health treatment and distinguishes between meditation, trance, and dissociation. The length of the seminar is adaptable to your academic schedule. Please visit my website for more information: GaryChapin.com
