It’s alienating at best to have an exclusive seeming event ceremony for the “top” students. At least that is one way it was perceived by many in my academic class. As a liberal arts institution, Bowdoin should celebrate the many talents beyond academics that are representetive of all abilities in the student body. As President Rose stated above, Bowdoin’s is an academically rigorous program. Any student already at Bowdoin surely has received plenty of accolades to date.
