Today, discussions on morality run the same risk that boats without anchors in a rocky harbor during a storm encounter. I’m wondering if anyone brought up the Declaration of Independence and the references its references to Natural Moral Law. What was Jefferson thinking about when he presented certain rights as “endowed?” Simple wisdom, like having an anchor and compass on board, seems to be missing from our culture and its conversations. It sounds like this type of event is potentially a great way to teach the seamanship of dialectic.
